Salvation Army New Building Project Hires Local Contractors.
Kudos to the Salvation Army! A new 30,000 square foot community center is being built in Sarasota at a cost of $5 million. It is well underway as I pass it on my way to the Sarasota Association of Realtors on a regular basis. What I didn’t know until today is that the Salvation Army insisted on local contractors. Except for two suppliers on the project, everyone is from this region. Of the contractors working on the new construction, each of them have hired laid off workers for the project. They expect to have about 200 workers overall.
As a developer or a contractor in the Sarasota – Lakewood Ranch – Bradenton FL area, this is a great idea for getting our local residents back to work. Have you considered hiring only local, skilled workers for your projects? If not, you should!
What can this do for you:
Show your dedication to help grow the local economy
Help to keep the monies earned and spent in the local counties
Both of the above will help to create growth in local jobs, keep shops running and retain our workers
The Sarasota – Manatee County area of the Florida gulf coast is stabilizing and slowly growing. Bring your family and your business to paradise on the gulf coast. You’ll never look back!
